We need Superman to help save our falling home prices. The real estate market has been negatively affected and has seen a huge rise in short sales and foreclosures. There are many more homes on the market than there are buyers. Our economy is facing serious problems. Buyers who are looking are having more trouble qualifying for a loan than ever before. Realtors are hoping for a stimulus package. It now looks like there will be a $15000 tax credit for first time buyers and possibly those who have not owned a home in 3 years. Hopefully, Superman will be able to save the day.
Faster than a speeding bullet & more powerful than a locomotive are phrases describing our and Superman’s .Kansas’ hero. Our office Weichert Realtors, Sharon Sigman Five Star has our own Superman in the form of Jeff East. Just as in the expression “the American way” like Superman, Jeff can help eager Kansas City home buyers find their own home & distraught sellers move.
If you would like Jeff’s assistance in finding or selling Kansas real estate, put away your kryptonite & contact us.
Seriously, you may know about Kansas City’s own Jeff East who at age of 13 was selected to star as Tom Sawyer . He left his parents, brother & twin sister for Hollywood where he went on to star in nearly 50 movies (including Disney) & t v shows. . When Jeff was 19 he spent a year making the first Superman movie. It was shot in London and Alberta, Canada. The latter was the setting for Superman (Clark Kent)’s childhood home located in Smallville, KS (not far from us!)..
While making the movie, Jeff spent time playing chess with older superman star Christopher Reeves. Jeff forged many long time friendships and contacts with fellow cast mates Gene Hackman, Marlon Brando, Ned Beatty,Glen Ford and Suzanne York. He even dated Valerie Perrine.his screen girl friend.
Jeff endured 3 hours of make up each day. Part of his transformation to resemble Christopher Reeves was adding a prosthetic nose & hair piece. Scenes such as young Superman learning he could fly & out-running a train are parts of screen history. Jeff was in the first 35 minutes of the popular Superman The Movie. I was surprised to learn that Christopher Reeve’s voice was dubbed over that of Jeff’s. This 1978 release of the first superman movie was number 1 at the box office and grossed more than 400 million dollars. That was a good return for a $40 million dollar production cost..
A few years ago Jeff (also a realtor in Los Angeles) returned to Kansas City to help his father Ira East in commercial Kansas city real estate. .Now Jeff East works for Weichert Realtors, Sharon Sigman Five Star where he successfully flies into action to find Kansas city homes for his fans & investment properties for others.
